​Biographie et démarche​
 

Christobal de Oliveira développe une approche multidisciplinaire, mêlant peintures, film, installation et textes. Des dessins deviennent animation, qui donnent lieu à une exposition comprenant de nouvelles peintures, photos, installation et tableaux animés. Un même projet est développé sous différents médiums et subit une forme d’hybridation. La réutilisation d’éléments existants, successivement altérés, crée une œuvre nouvelle et suscite de nouvelles interprétations.
En 2011, il réalise le film "Aalterate", 38 fois sélectionné en festival (dont le festival d’Annecy, Holland Animation Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival) et 7 fois primé. Ce film lui permet d’obtenir le Prix Beaumarchais-SACD assorti d'une bourse à l'écriture d'un long métrage. Il lui donne une nouvelle dimension en le plaçant au cœur d’une installation au Cube, y associant tableaux animés et peinture.
Cette approche pluridisciplinaire lui permet d’aborder des thématiques hétérogènes, avec la volonté de ne pas se laisser enfermer ni dans un seul ton, ni dans un seul sens. Cette exploration de plusieurs démarches créatives est un moyen d’enrichir et remettre en cause ce qu’il produit. La collision des différentes techniques et de registres variés, intimes ou collectifs, réfléchis ou absurdes, précis ou lâché, donne à son travail l’énergie d’un chaos d’où émergent des messages en constant mouvement.

Christobal de Oliveira develops a multidisciplinary approach, combining painting, film, installation and text. Drawings become animated which give rise to a new exhibition including paintings, photographs, installation and moving pictures. A project is developed under different mediums and undergoes a form of hybridization. The reuse of successively altering existing elements creates a new work and new interpretations.

In 2011, he directed the film “Aalterate” which was selected 38 times at various festivals (including the Annecy Festival, Holland Animation Film Festival and Telluride Film Festival) and winning 7 times. This film has earned him the Beaumarchais-SACD Award that includes a grant to write a feature length film. It gives it a new dimension by placing it at the heart of the Cube a facility involved in animated pictures and paintings.
This multidisciplinary approach enables him to address diverse topics with the intention of not getting caught up in either a single tone or in a single direction. This exploration of more creative approaches is a means to enrich and challenge his production. The collision of different techniques and various themes; intimate or collective, contemplative or absurd, accurate or released, gives his work power of chaos from which emerges messages in constant motion.
